Vehicles in Germany's City Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Authorities mentioned they were notified by a resident who discovered a car in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Around fifty vehicles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.

Cars, walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a release.

Law enforcement report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.

The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they reported.

Officers then located numerous other marked cars and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials report early analysis indicate the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; investigators are currently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the event," they stated.

City officials said they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the residents for information.

An important official commented the attack left him speechless and needed to be resolved rapidly.

"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he stated on online, referring to the murder of nine people by a gunman targeting individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
